Ashtanga Yoga is one style of the ancient Indian Art and Science of uniting mind, body, Spirit, and community, to foster connection and balance.
Yoga is so much more than a movement practice. There are 8 branches of Ashtanga Yoga and Yoga Asanas, or poses, make up only one branch. The other 7 branches are: Yamas (restraint), Niyamas (observances), Pranayama (control of Life Force or Breath-Work), Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (absorption), and Samadhi (oneness).
This full-spectrum approach to healing creates a foundational and well-rounded practice for living a fulfilling life.
When we harness the power of our minds to unite with our bodies, we are able to utilize our life force energy to create a state of cohesion within ourselves and in our relationships and environment. Yoga is a deeply transformational practice that has deeply impacted my personal development over the past 10 + years and it is my honour to pass along the wisdom of its teachings to you.
